Montessori 1

“Montessori” has become a household word today. In the Montessori school/classroom teachers’/directress’ task is to “stimulate life” in the child, leaving him/her free to develop in a selected environment. In other words, the child is helped to teach himself, unlike the task of the normal teachers who imparts knowledge only. From the age of 2 ½ years onwards child is forming his basic personality, he is forming his will, his memory and his habits. At this age his muscular coordination has been brought under the control of the will. In Montessori classrooms, children find their satisfaction from learning, this is play to them. Montessori program is well rounded and the child has the opportunity to do many activities alone or with the companionship of others. There are many opportunities for self-expression including rhythmic exercises, clay, crayons, scissors, past and paper.

Montessori education not only caters to the bare essentials of preschool education but also provides the child with the opportunity of forming character.

The well-structured curriculum involves sensorial education, the child is learning by the five senses, touch, hearing, sight, taste, and smell. The best results are known to be obtained by concentrating on one sense at a time. The sensorial material is designed to aid the mind in the development of the intellect.

Montessori-1 classrooms are equipped with Montessori material and Montessori trained directress.
